Halls Kansas City was one of the first retailers to carry Charlie Hustle merchandise.

“We’ve been with him since the beginning,” says Halls Kansas City President and CEO Kelly Cole. “We’re really proud of Charlie Hustle, and we’re proud to have been partners with him as he’s grown his business.”

That relationship continues to be stronger than ever, with the two local icons teaming up for  Charlie Hustle Day to support some of the most vulnerable populations in Kansas City. For every Charlie Hustle shirt sold at Halls, the store will donate $5 to Harvesters Community Food Network. Their goal is to sell 100 shirts, which will provide at least 1,500 meals for families in need. The five-day promotion runs from July 9 - 12.

“We look at it as a win for two local businesses, and we in turn can support a local charitable organization, who supports our local community — especially during this time,” says Kelly.

Supporting Your Community

The economic downturn from Covid-19 has hit many of those who rely on Harvesters particularly hard, and Halls has been a big supporter of the food bank for years.

“They really help nourish underprivileged families,” says Kelly. “And over 40 percent of the people they serve are people of color and we want to really support that.”

Shopping Safely

Shoppers will have a lot of options to choose from while supporting their local community. From onesies for the littles, to tons of different Charlie Hustle collections — including an exclusive Heart KC t-shirt featuring a multi-color striped heart — the diverse and varied selection of merchandise at Halls is meant to represent the breadth and uniqueness of Charlie Hustle merchandise, which has become a local wardrobe staple.

“His t-shirts have really become synonymous with Kansas City right now,” says Kelly.

Halls is open with limited hours of Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. with Covid-19 safety measures in place. All shoppers are required to wear masks in a public space indoors, and employees will be decked out Charlie Hustle masks — obviously — which will be for sale (but not part of the promotion so be sure to buy a t-shirt too).

Hand sanitizer is available, the store is set up to make it easy for social distancing, and has added plexiglass guards at sales stations.

“We want everyone to feel comfortable because people’s wellbeing is very important to us,” says Kelly.

Anyone who wants to participate without entering the store can also place an order by phone and have their t-shirt delivered.

We’re proud to partner with a Kansas City favorite to do some good in our community,” says Kelly. “We encourage Kansas Citians to also do their part in the community, with this being one of the many opportunities there are across the city.”
