Sunday Brunch Spent Eating Local

It doesn’t get better than Sunday brunch - Saturday brunch - in St. Louis. Today I’m ordering off the menu for you you at my favorite St. Louis brunch locations to make it easy! Pick a spot, bring this along and enjoy a scrumptious local eating experience.

1. Brasserie in Central West End

First things first, grab a spot outside if it’s nice out and head straight to the cocktail menu. I’d recommend the corpse reviver or the violet 75 – something outside your traditional mimosa without missing the sweet start to a delicious local meal ahead. I hope you’re hungry! Start with the sweet beignets – they are so. SO. good. For an entrée, I recommend the quiche or eggs benedict – but I saw the French breakfast pass by last time I was there and had some FOMO, so that is on my list to try next. Sad you didn’t get any bacon? Order the side, it comes with SO many pieces!

2. Katie’s Pizza in Rock Hill

If you aren’t venturing out, order frozen pizza! Or, head to Katie’s for a classic St. Louis brunch patio experience for the real deal in person. Have a seat outdoors on a sunny morning and start with a blood orange mule or perhaps a grapefruit spritz. If you’re feeling simple, a glass of prosecco will do the trick. For starters, consider sharing a St. Louis classic – toasted ravioli – or go for the charred cauliflower. Looking for a heavier starter or maybe one to share? The burrata sounds so good! A local friend who frequents Katie’s highly recommended these mains:. fried artichoke salad, lemon strozzapreti pasta or margherita extra pizza. Bon appétit!

3. Clover and Bee in Webster Groves

This is the cutest place you’ll see on the list if you’re looking for an extremely Instagram-able experience with your girlfriends! This brunch spot in Webster Groves offers patio dining, but the inside is too pretty to pass up. It’s truly great to sit inside and look at the cheery, painted walls! Start with a selection of local teas or if you’re up for it, grab a mimosa – served with prosecco and fresh juice of your choice side-by-side to mix yourself. If you’re just up for a pastry – go for the pop tart or the cinnamon roll! If you’re more hungry, go for the Brussels sprouts salad or the mozzarella sandwich.

4. Half and Half in Clayton

A little more classic, head to this little quaint spot for the traditional, yummy fare. Choose your own adventure – doughnuts or avocado toast to start? You can’t go wrong – or go somewhere in between with a grapefruit half with vanilla sugar. I like a little of everything so I usually order the traditional Half and Half with bacon, but if you’re up for a real treat head straight for blackberry cheesecake stuffed French toast or the breakfast tacos.

5. City Coffeehouse in Clayton

A true classic favorite – a centrally located French Crêperie – good anytime past brunch into a late afternoon lunch. They have plenty of outdoor seating or a cute glass window sunroomwhich I love to sit in on a sunny day. Order at the counter and bring your Eiffel Tower table marker to your seat to wait for your meal. Make your own crepe with your ingredients of choice or pick one of my faves: Shaw Park, Mont Blanc (both savory) or the Freedom (sweet).
