Everyone has a slightly different interpretation of brunch. For some, it's drinking Bloody Marys with the gang until 3 p.m. and closing the place down. For others, it's hearty meals that you share with your family while discussing life updates. Whatever you are looking for in your brunch experience, we have it in Kansas City.
Today we are looking at the fantastic brunch spots in Downtown Kansas City. See you there this Sunday!
Beignet
"New Orleans-themed spot serving sweet and savory beignets and crêpes along with classic Cajun dishes."
OK, so you obviously need to try a traditional beignet if you have never had one. Get the classic puffy pillow covered in sugar and dip it in your two choices of sweet sauces. Once you wake up from your sugar coma, you will be so glad you did.
After that, indulge in the savory delights that Beignet has to offer. For vegetarians, the Voodoo Veghead is so, so good. If you have room in your stomach (or your fridge to take it to-go!), give yourself the cheesy goodness of the seven-cheese macaroni.
Go here on a Sunday that you don't have a lot going on after brunch. You'll definitely want to lounge around after so much rich (amazing!) food—perfect for this snowy weather!

Blue Bird Bistro
"Eclectic takes on farm-to-table American fare in a renovated, brick-lined Victorian space."
If you are a little more health conscious when you go out to eat, Blue Bird Bistro is a great place to brunch. All of the dishes on the menu are packed with flavor and exciting textures, but they are also made from high-quality, nutrient-rich ingredients. Even the biscuits and gravy are made with organic mushroom gravy, farm-fresh eggs, organic potatoes and herbs from a local garden.
Eating local, fresh, organic foods doesn't have to mean you are just stuck with salads!

The Westside Local
"Creative takes on farm-to-table American cooking in a warm, exposed-brick space with a beer garden."
The Westside Local's Sunday "blunch" is served 11 a.m.-3 p.m., and you'll want to get there early to make sure you get a spot. The hardest part about eating here is deciding weather to get breakfast or lunch—everything on both sides sounds amazing.
Whatever you order, please, please get a pint of fries (or two!) for the table. You will not regret it. These parmesan and parsley fries are served with plenty of aioli sauces to choose from. You'll keep going back and forth between all of them because it's just that hard to choose a favorite!
