Opened in March 2020, right before a global pandemic, Vi Beauty Lab in Wayzata has been serving the community with open arms and hearts. “When we started, I had heard this idea that we are sent to love each other and love the human in front of you. I thought my purpose was to change the world, but I thought, ‘How can I do this?’ In that moment, the answer was all I have to do is love people,” says owner Danielle ‘Dani’ Anderson.
Showing up every day to serve others is no easy task, but Dani and her team vow to love every human that comes through the door—just the way they are. “We believe when we show up to work with positive assumption, we are better, and the people we serve are better,” said Dani. She prides herself on cultivating a culture of love, empathy, and vulnerability with her team, which, in turn, translates to their clients. “If you give people a safe space, they will go there. We have clients that really open up to us,” says Dani. “This is because we show up with each other, and even our clients can feel it when they come in the door. That is why they feel so loved.”
Creating value and mission was integral to Vi Beauty Lab. In fact, Dani created her core values “before I even had a team or chairs.” The core values of bravery, connection, curiosity, grace, grit, and possibility keep the entire business grounded and serve as a way for everyone to hold each other accountable and be vulnerable. “Beauty and these values are so connected,” says Dani. “We don’t make people feel confident when they come to us. That comes from something inside. I believe what you feel inside is attached to the outside,” reflects Dani. Clients get a space to share the beauty treatment they might want but then also have the space to dig a little deeper to be the best version of themselves—inside and out.
