Twin brothers Chris and Pat Thompson have disrupted the local business community – in a good way. The brothers, who were wholesale plant distributors for more than 20 years before the pandemic caused them to reconsider their options, in April 2020 opened The Man Cave Market in Vinemont.

Yes, they still sell plants, but over the last almost four years, The Man Cave Market has become a destination shopping experience for the region.

If you’ve ever visited the market, you know what I mean. Shoppers can peruse a wide variety of plants – from traditional to exotic – while enjoying the atmosphere, soaking in the music and even playing a game of pool.

“Our customers enjoy the relaxing ambiance they feel walking through, listening to classic rock and roll and the tropical jungle sounds in the tropical room for a feel-good vibe,” said the brothers, who shared they often have customers just hang out and chat for a while – which they love!

The Man Cave Market’s inventory is unique and eclectic, a nod to the brothers’ extensive travels. Besides plants, you can find a wide array of pottery and special gift items, even coffee and grooming products.

“We add to our inventory every week,” they said.

Springtime will be here in the South in just a couple of months, and a special service The Man Cave Market offers is its on-premises landscape garden. Customers can see what their landscapes would look like with their chosen trees and plants.

You can find The Man Cave Market at 17897 U.S. Highway 31 North in Vinemont. Check it out online at www.facebook.com/themancavemarket and www.themancavemarket.net. It’s open Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays from noon-3 p.m.
