Sometimes one of the hardest things to do is plan the perfect date night. Whether it is a first date, a Tinder/Bumble/Hinge date, a romantic night out with the husband or wife, or your 100th anniversary. There are so many spots in KC to go, how do you choose?! I have decided to compile 3 top five lists for date nights. One for each of the following categories: Romantic, Casual and 1st Date/Fun.
Romantic
Here is a list of the Top 5 romantic date nights in KC, in my personal opinion:
1. Green Lady Lounge
Located in the Crossroads District, Green Lady Lounge is a great late-night spot for a night on the town with your significant other. They offer a dark, speakeasy setting with live jazz 365 days a year. Along with delicious drinks, this is surely to put you in the romantic mood!
2. The Rockhill Grille
Located in the Crossroads District, The Rockhill Grille is a great spot for dinner and drinks with your sweetheart. Their food is absolutely delicious and they have a great cocktail menu. In a nice, trendy setting, you are sure to have a chance to spend some quality time with your loved one.
3. Capital Grille
Located on the Country Club Plaza, Capital Grille is a great spot if you are looking for that extra elegance. Want to dress to impress and really go all out while enjoying delicious food? This is your spot!
4. Tannin Wine Bar
Located in the Crossroads District, Tannin Wine Bar is a very romantic setting for a date night out. Such a small and quaint little spot to go enjoy many different wines and foods.
5. The Monarch
Located on the Country Club Plaza, The Monarch is a high-end craft cocktail bar. Looking to go sip on some cocktails with your hunny? Look no further! This will be a very classy and romantic environment.
Casual
Here is a list of the Top 5 casual date nights in KC, in my personal opinion:
1. LaBodega
Located in the Crossroads District, LaBodega is a great spot to take a date! Whether 1st or 90th. Tapas is always fun with a partner because you get to try a variety of different tasty bites!
2. Parlor
Located in the Crossroads District, Parlor has been described as "a high-end food court". With many different restaurant options in one building and multiple bars to grab drinks at, it is a great time to bounce around with your date!
3. Q39
Located in Midtown and Overland Park, Q39 is personally my favorite BBQ in KC. If you are needing that KC feel because you are from out of town or just moved here, this is a great experience and absolutely delicious food!!
4. Prime Sushi
Located in South Plaza, Prime Sushi is one of mine and my husbands favorite date night spots! It is small and cute and has some of the best sushi in the city!
5. Port Fonda
Located in the Westport District, Port Fonda is also another one of our favorite date nights to hit up! With tasty food and a fun environment, it makes for a great night out! Their Roselle margaritas are so tasty!
Fun
Here is a list of the Top 5 fun date nights in KC, in my personal opinion:
1. RoKC
Located in North KC and Olathe, RoKC is a rock climbing gym and is a GREAT date night option. It gives you a reason to have some fun and be active. It could also bring a lot of laughter into your life if one of you is not great at it! And if you are not into your first date, you can run away up the wall and not be obvious about it! Woo! (This definitely came from a personal experience LOL.)
2. Boulevard Brewing Company
Located along Southwest Blvd/Crossroads District, Boulevard is a great date spot! They offer tours of the brewery and you get to see a mass production of beer being made. Once you are done, you and your date can grab a sampling of beer and go up to their Rec Center which has plenty of fun games to play!
3. Up-Down KC
Located in the Crossroads District, Up-Down is an arcade bar and is the perfect chill date night. Who doesn't love some healthy competition with a side of nostalgia?! Not to mention, slices of pizza the size of your head.
4. J. Rieger & Co.
Located in the East Bottoms District, J. Rieger & Co. is a fun spot to hit during the day or night. With the delicious drinks coming, it is a great spot for some good conversation. You can also take a tour of the distillery and learn how their spirits are made. To top it all off, they have a slide that goes from the 2nd floor to the lobby so you can just slide right on out of there!
5. Blade & Timber
Located in the Power and Light District, Blade and Timber is an ax-throwing spot and people go crazy for throwing weapons! Another way to get a little competitive with your date. They have multiple games you can play and tasty bites to eat!
