Westside Market was founded as a concept to encourage entrepreneurship by removing many of the barriers small businesses encounter in starting up, like leasing space, permitting, business licenses, sales tax administration, staffing, and marketing to name a few. Frank Bell is the store manager and offers sellers a space within a space where they can become an entrepreneur with many of the hassles eliminated. "This, in turn, offers shoppers unprecedented access to a breadth and depth of products not found anywhere," he says. "Our average shopper is here 90 minutes! To walk the whole store is almost half a mile."
More than 200 different vendors are represented, growing to 300, promises Frank. You'll find home decor, furniture, rugs, gifts, fashion and vintage items throughout the space. Westside Market was founded in Atlanta in 2013 to provide a diverse and unique shopping experience for homeowners and interior designers as well as the general public. Now, there are four locations across some 200,000 square feet. "Our members provide inspiration in the unique look that each brings, along with difficult-to-find products. One can literally furnish their entire home from our store with each room having a unique look," says Frank. Recently, Westside had a vintage Land Rover from North Africa and vintage iron park benches.
His experience ranges from flying corporate aircraft all over the world to working for the Coca-Cola Company. He was in the U.S. Army before that, finishing his career commanding a Special Forces team in the Army Reserve. Now, he commands Westside Market, supporting vendors and partners.
"We have a terrific mix of shoppers, some designers and mostly homeowners. Many of our shoppers are here to simply see what is new. With over 200 vendors, our merchandise is turning over frequently with plenty of new arrivals each week.
