We established and founded Doors Open Connect in 2018
What’s your favorite thing about working in Naples?
Although access to the Doors Open Connect platform is available to licensed real estate brokers and agents nationwide, I founded and started it right here in beautiful Naples Florida and love this market and the great connections and professional relationships and friendships I’ve been fortunate to establish and maintain over the years.
What is the most challenging thing about working in Naples?
When I first moved to Naples there wasn’t much to it at the time or much to do aside from it being beautiful but I always saw great potential here in the real estate business. Fast forward and this is definitely not your grandpa’s Naples anymore and businesses is booming. Having said that it has always been a bit of a challenge getting the old guard and gatekeepers to be open minded and receptive towards progression, change and forward progress adapting with technology and the times to keep up with the fast pace of the industry even when you are offering them a much better way to do things.
What are your future business goals?
As mentioned Doors Open Connect is national with members in different states however to ensure we build out the company to last. We have intentionally been slow and organic in our approach to growth as far as marketing. However, with the many success stories and testimonials and agents especially in SWFL accessing and utilizing the platform daily, we are very happy and looking to really grow and get the word out this year in 2024.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Get your real estate license as soon as you can and hit the ground running and stop blowing your money!

Can you share a memorable instance where your service made a significant impact on a customer?
I have so many but the goal has always been to help agents and give them an opportunity they might not otherwise get. I have an agent Aimee Rodriguez with Marzucco Real Estate, LLC who was in the business a few years at the time and she called me expressing she was considering quitting as she wasn’t getting anywhere and needed to find a job. I asked her how many open houses has she sat. She said one and no one showed up. I reminded her it's a numbers game but also she needed to have a positive outlook and truly market the property and the open house in advance in order to maximize exposure and have the best possible turnout. I told her there was a new open house posted on the app. For over $900,000 and the listing agent needed coverage and the hosting agent would be able to keep the leads. Aimee would go on to sit that open house and give it her all through Doors Open Connect and she would later send me a photo of a line of cars in the driveway where she met serious buyers and a seller not working with other agents. She called me and thanked me for talking her out of quitting. She would go on to build relationships with them through follow up and would help some of them in their real estate purchases and sales. A couple years later and Aimee has since gone on to sell millions in real estate and is still crushing it.

This wasn't just a career; it was a masterclass in patience, perseverance, and people skills. For over 15 years, DeShawn immersed himself in the art of hospitality, learning the nuances of white-glove service, the importance of anticipating needs, and the power of building lasting relationships.
In 2015, DeShawn took a bold step into the realm of real estate. With his arsenal of skills from his previous career, he was more than ready. At Marzucco Real Estate, he didn't just join the team; he helped catapult it to new heights. As a founding member and managing partner, DeShawn played a pivotal role in expanding the firm to over 475 agents, with multiple offices across the state and an impressive record of over 1.5 billion dollars in sales.
But that's not all. DeShawn's entrepreneurial spirit led him to create Doors Open Connect, a digital platform that revolutionized how brokers and agents connect and collaborate. His vision brought together thousands in the real estate community, fostering a network brimming with opportunities and support.

MEET RICK HAAS
Rick's family originally moved to Naples when he was 4, two months before Hurricane Andrew made landfall. Both of his parents were REALTORS and home flippers at the time. After owning multiple businesses through his 20s and nationally touring with a band, he eventually followed his parents' footsteps in real estate. He first started out as a silent partner in 2017 with Josh Marzucco, Deshawn Robinson, Jess Morris, Jesse Logan, and Jorvi Noesi in opening up Marzucco Real Estate LLC. He became a licensed real estate agent in 2019 where his career immediately took off, and he has been a top ten producer for the company ever since. They now currently have 450+ agents and 6 offices throughout the state of Florida. He partnered up with DeShawn Robinson to revamp and re-launch the Doors Open Connect APP in 2020 and start the D.O.C. Podcast. In 2023, he started Freedom TC (Transaction Coordinator) services for real estate agents. He is now working towards getting his mortgage originator license (MLO) to offer more services to his clients. Growing up here makes his career choices easier to navigate through where it may be harder for people to start up who've just moved here. The biggest tip he would give his younger self would have been to get into real estate earlier and stay persistent. He sets himself apart from other REALTORS by being an educational, loud personality on social media and in public with his own personal branding. He admires honesty, loyalty, and communication in other people, especially in business and those close to him. He least admires it when people don't take the time to be kind and put others first. The biggest way he gives back to his community is through food drives, toy drives, volunteering his time, and his favorite is the annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive he organizes, which has fed over 300 families in Immokalee each year! He is currently focused on building each one of his businesses while staying humble and serving others around him. He has traveled all over this country, and there is no place like Naples, FL. This city will be his forever home, and he's grateful to be able to live there!
