There are a lot of different aspects of a well-rounded wellness program and it's not one size fits all. Everyone has different requirements for nutrition, fitness, and overall health. It's important to make sure you are doing what is right for you. We spoke with local wellness experts and asked them for tips on staying healthy in 2024.
Nutrition - Debra's Daily Healthy
Debra’s advice for healthy eating in 2024 is to "choose a program designed with you in mind and that changes as you change. Get educated on what's the correct nutrition for you. A program that is delicious, convenient, affordable, and sustainable is a program that will work for you. Having foods you crave that are not addictive, and delicious desserts that don’t have all the bad stuff in them is key to supporting the best health over your lifetime. Healthy ingredients will put you in control of the food instead of the food controlling you."
Debra’s Daily Healthy is where delicious, personalized nutrition and fun fitness come together. Debra offers a complimentary wellness profile for you and creates a program that fits your personal needs and lifestyle, helping you achieve goals including getting healthy, having more energy, losing body fat, increasing lean muscle, and having better digestive health.
Debra’s Daily Healthy offers catering and meal planning solutions specializing in low-carb, low-fat, vegan, high-protein, keto, and allergen-free diets to meet clients' unique needs. Debra's number one tip is to start now so that you make every day your best life. DebrasDailyHealthy.com

Dental Health - DiMariano Family Dentistry
What's a tip for healthy teeth in 2024? According to Dr. DiMariano, "Fluoride continues to be the tried and true ingredient for cavity prevention, and keeping tooth enamel strong and resistant to sensitivity. Follow a simple routine following the gold standard: brush twice a day for two minutes and floss once a day. Fluoride can be found in all-natural toothpaste and is a safe, effective way to help avoid dental procedures. Only toothpaste with fluoride can say ‘anti-cavity’, otherwise it will say ‘anti-plaque’. Nano-hydroxyapatite is another ingredient that can remineralize enamel and can be found in a variety of products."
Regular dental visits are essential to make sure oral health problems are detected and treated in a timely manner, and to make sure teeth stay healthy, functioning well, and looking great. DiMariano Family Dentistry can meet all your dental needs, including general dentistry, teeth whitening, orthodontics, Invisalign braces, crowns, preventative care, or periodontal exams. Healthy Seniors - Prairie City Landing
A healthy lifestyle is a lifelong commitment and important to continue into our golden years. Teri Wahl and Joan Feldman are residents of Prairie City Landing, a beautiful senior living community in Folsom that offers a fitness center and program with a full-time Fitness Director. They offer up to 25 classes a week and Teri and Joan go daily. With the nice variety of classes from stretch to strength to breath work, Joan says she sometimes takes three classes a day.
Cynthia Bazin, the center's Marketing Director and a fitness specialist herself, shared some tips for staying healthy in 2024. Cynthia suggests finding something you like to do. Residents enjoy the walking paths in the courtyard and around the perimeter of the community. Schedule it and track it. If you schedule it, you’re more likely to do it and if you track it, you'll feel more motivated.
Another important tip, Cynthia suggests, is to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water during the day, especially on hot days and when you're being extra active.
If you're looking for a lovely senior community for yourself or your loved one, take a tour of Prairie City Landing. The facility is impressive, the programs are abundant and the staff are friendly and helpful. You might even find some new friends to work out with like Teri and Joan. PrairieCityLanding.com
