Are you ready for an adventure that will warm your heart and make a real difference? Dr. Edna May, a veterinarian at the Humane Society of Naples, has a special invitation for the community. It's a call to action that's all about fun, love, and helping our furry friends in need. The Humane Society Naples and Collier County Domestic Animal Services are offering a unique program where you can take a shelter dog out for a day trip.

Getting shelter dogs out for a few hours can work wonders for their well-being. It significantly reduces their stress levels and gives them the opportunity to experience the world beyond the shelter walls. Whether you're headed downtown for a coffee or exploring the scenic walking trails, these dogs are ready to join you on an adventure. The process is simple – just visit one of the shelters and ask to take a dog out for a rescue recess day trip. The staff will match you with the perfect canine companion for the day.

If you're ready to take your support to the next level, consider becoming a foster parent for shelter pets. Fostering can take many forms, from providing a weekend getaway for a shelter pet to caring for them as they recover from medical treatment, or even giving them a couch until they find their forever homes. It's an incredible opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of these animals.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your walking shoes, open your heart, and join the Rescue Recess movement. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of shelter pets right here in our community.

Ps. Please keep an eye out for our annual Puppy Prom fundraiser being held June 1st, 2023 at Corkscrew Weddings.
