The first time I visited Westport was almost exactly 14 years ago, to meet the family of my now-husband, a Westport native. We had lunch at Tavern on Main (gone, sadly!) and I was instantly charmed by Main Street and the sweeping river views, a far cry from my own upbringing in the nondescript suburbs of Atlanta. I never would have guessed that ten years after that lunch, we’d be moving our family into our very own Westport home.
Moving to Westport in 2020, as I’m sure many of you experienced, was an unusual way to get to know a new town. But over the last four years, I’ve never doubted that we chose the absolute best place to raise our three kids, and it’s been a joy to explore treasures new and old around town together. Beyond my role as a mom, I am a freelance writer with more than 15 years of experience working in the magazine industry, and I couldn’t be more excited to marry my love for Westport and my journalism background as the new editor of Westport Lifestyle. Westport Lifestyle is all about celebrating what is so special about this area, and luckily, from where I sit, there’s no shortage of amazing things to write about.
