Many of Gilbert's most loved family owned businesses have literally been lifted up through the pandemic simply by our residents choosing to shop and buy local. This shopping trend has become known as "local love". We make choices to eat at local restaurants instead of chains, shop the farmer's and maker's markets, and even saved our holiday shopping budgets to participate in the SHOP SMALL SATURDAY instead of the CRAZY BLACK FRIDAY madness
When you choose to shop local, it is more than just supporting the salaries of the employee families. Many local business owners are also working behind the scenes at our local non-profits, food pantries, medical clinics, schools. universities, and sports teams. These humble servant leaders in our communities make the most of the dollars that you have chosen to invest with their small businesses by reinvesting in local kindness. San Tan Ford is one of these beloved local companies which is owned by Tim Hovik, who lives right here in the East Valley. The truth is -- if you buy a vehicle at San Tan Ford or even choose them for routine oil changes, you have directly helped dozens local charities and causes.
Now THEY would never tell you this-- because that is NOT who they are ,or "why they do what they do".. However, we felt like you might like to know as an educated consumer when you are choosing to shop local. So we did some digging ourselves and wanted to share a few of partners that you directly helped this year by shopping local.
We are certain that you will be proud of the missions of kindness that you helped make possible. We also included some direct quotes so you could hear how you personally have impacted families here in the East Valley by shopping with San Tan Ford. Thank you so much for your Local Love

House of Refuge
In 2016 House of Refuge lost all federal funding when transitional housing was discontinued. In turn the executive team and Board designed a program called Adopt a Home. This program provides the necessary funding to support a family in crisis in their homes for one year. Several sports players, foundations, corporations and families adopted homes in our community or to help raise the funds necessary for continuing operations at House of Refuge.
"Our partnership with San Tan Ford has been ongoing for many years. Tim really blessed House of Refuge in 2020 when our Gala was canceled due to Covid 19.", Tim gifted House of Refuge a brand new Ford Bronco to raffle off at $100 per ticket to raise funds to supplement some of the loss. Although, they were not able to fully recover from the Gala loss, the impact the ticket sales had on House of Refuge was significant.
100 Club of Arizona
The mission of the 100 Club is to provide support to families of first responders who have been seriously injured or killed in the line of duty. They have proudly served the public safety community since 1968. The volunteers of the 100 club mean the world to their mission as they truly are the ones who keep the mission moving forward. One of the easiest ways as a community you can help support the 100 club is to select the supporting public safety license plate that is an option at service Arizona. "We want to send a HUGE thank you to San Tan Ford and for their commitment to honoring not only those that have fallen but also those who are left behind. www.100club.org
