The Louisburg Cider Mill donuts are SO good; they make 300 dozen per hour to keep up with the fall crowds! WOWZA.
This third generation family business has a really cool story of how it started in 1977, turning into one of Kansas City and beyond's best experiences—and meeting the unbelievably kind owners and their kiddos for a behind the scenes tour made my appreciation for this local experience just that much better.
Hot and cold cider slushes and a secret cider and spice donut recipe are only the beginning of making your way around the beautiful, sprawling Kansas property, with the original late 1800's barn still standing as one of KC's most photographed landmarks.
Purveyors of their scratch made apple cider, apple cider donuts, fruit butters, and Lost Trail sodas, @louisburgcidermill & Country Store is open year round with can't miss festivities, like their annual fall back to back weekend Ciderfest, Easter Egg Hunt, Cider Mill Century Bike Tour, and November Tree Lighting Ceremony.
LCM's cider is so in demand that nearly 40 states are receiving and distributing their famous cider, which is pressed and bottled on site. Purchase cider by the cup or by the half gallon within the store, which is not only darling and cozy, but stocked with natural comfort foods, unique gifts, gift baskets, and sauces and spices to kick your home cooked meals up a notch. If your interest lies in learning the process, book a tour as you go behind the scenes to see the magic of apple pressing and donut making come to life.
Few things are better than a charming fall experience like LCM, including their 10-acre corn maze and pumpkin patch, bee hive exhibit, children's slides, pillow jump, and tire swings, farm animals, and live music set on stage for select events. It's made for making memories and a tradition sure to be established!
Pro Tip: Go later on a week day afternoon for more property to yourselves!
