Do you ever wonder why you work out your entire body, but not your face? Well, I did and, as a yoga instructor for two decades, I decided face yoga was a perfect addition to my aging plan and became certified in the FitFace Method.
You too can work out your face (in addition to or instead of med spa treatments and facelifts) to move from anti-aging to pro-aging in a holistic way!
"The Face Yoga Method is a series of exercises designed to work the facial muscles to maintain suppleness and youthfulness, toning the muscles and lifting the skin, " explains Dora Peric, the creator of The Fit Face Method, which got its start in Dubai.
A face yoga session is a combination of 7 components: meditation, facial posture exploration, Gua Sha sculpting, facial massage, muscle exercises, acupressure, and a face roller cool down.
The 10 facial toning exercises aim to tone and lifting the forehead, eyelids, under eyes, cheeks, frowning muscles, jowls and neck.
For the purposes of this article, readers can sample a part of a Face Yoga session by learning the acupressure. It will leave you relaxed and detoxed. Continue to breathe during the 3 minute acupressure and hydrate.
If you feel a blissful facial afterglow, go in for the full face yoga treatment with a certified professional to instruct you in an hour class of traditional yoga and face yoga. Non-yogis will enjoy a 30-minute face yoga class or private session for the exercises. After about 2 months of daily practice, you will notice a difference. Be sure to take before and after pictures!
Namaste to a new, toned and lifted face.
