Lifelong athlete Brandi Rhodes has opened her first studio, Naked Mind Yoga + Pilates, in Roswell. Brandi is a certified yoga and mat/reformer Pilates instructor who has taken everything she’s learned from a lifetime of fitness and performance, to create a place that caters to people in all stages of their health journeys. From beginners to seasoned athletes, she looks to work with anyone with a slight curiosity, to a burning passion for yoga and/or Pilates and aims to help them meet and surpass their personal wellness goals. Naked Mind is the first studio in the area to offer both yoga and Pilates under one roof with a variety of heated and non-heated classes. They also offer childcare, allowing parents to prioritize themselves and their families!
Brandi began figure skating at the age of four and enjoyed a successful 17-year competitive career. She then moved on to a demanding 10-year career in the professional wrestling industry. Starting as a ring announcer and backstage interviewer for WWE, Brandi went on to wrestle independently and in 2019 helped spearhead All Elite Wrestling (AEW), by becoming their chief brand officer as well as a top female wrestler and on-screen presence. She is the first African American woman to hold any executive position in a major North American wrestling promotion.
She and her husband, WWE superstar Cody Rhodes (The American Nightmare) have been married for 10 years. Cody, son of the late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, grew up in East Cobb attending Lassiter High School. It's no surprise that the Rhodes have put down roots in Roswell with their daughter Liberty and two dogs. Brandi hopes this studio will become a legacy for her toddler yogi.
We caught up with Brandi to ask about her home, sweet home.
Sue G. Collins: How did you choose Roswell for your home?
Brandi Rhodes: We wanted to be in a thriving community that's great for families with great schools, yet not too far away from the great things Atlanta has to offer and of course, the airport for all of our travel needs!
SGC: And for your business home, why does Roswell work for you?
BR: When we decided to call Roswell home we fell in love with everything it has to offer and all of the opportunity that comes with being in a great area. I wanted to help build the community by offering this fitness and wellness studio and offer childcare for busy parents like me who sometimes can't prioritize themselves while caring for kids.
SGC: What are your go-to spots in Roswell?
BR: Crazy Love is the BEST for coffee. A working lunch is always well served at The Fickle Pickle. Dinner date nights at Little Alley Steak are always great and we love a family meal out at North End Kitchen.
Happy New Year to Brandi and the team at Naked Mind!
