Can you share the history of Richard’s Grinders?
Richard Fox founded Richard’s Grinders in West Springfield in 1969. Jim Cleland managed for 20 years. Jim and our family took the leap and bought Richard’s in 1991. The restaurant had a good reputation, so we kept the name. Jim built the business up for 17 years. When he retired in 2008, Brian Cleland took over. We’ve always wanted to open a Richard’s in our hometown of Westfield. We opened the Westfield store in 2009.

What do you offer?
We offer freshly made to order grinders, salads, soups, and pasta dinners. We specialize in simple, no frills catering, that will keep any group happy.
What do customers love about Richards?
Most people say they love the bakery fresh rolls we get daily and the fresh made-to-order grinders. We have a hard working and friendly staff. It’s awesome to see a line out the door and the phones ringing off the hook during the lunch rush. It lets us know we are doing something right!
