The Kansas City region is home to some of the most attractive and affordable housing in the nation. However, as in any city, it also is home to victims of abuse who need help to put their lives back together.
The Rob Ellerman Team at ReeceNichols in Lee’s Summit is proud to support Hope Haven of Cass County while providing real estate solutions to hundreds of residents each year. Hope Haven’s mission is to provide safe shelter, concentrated supportive services, community resources and education to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
The team and its partners raised $130,000 for the organization at its seventh annual golf tournament, which was held in late May at Drumm Farm Golf Course in Independence. It plans to use the funds to begin construction of a much-needed new facility.
“Hope Haven is such a great organization, and we are thrilled to be able to support their next chapter of growth,” team leader Rob Ellerman says. “The generosity from our participants was truly remarkable.”
Once again, Summit Homes was a major sponsor of the fundraiser. Other members of the real estate community, along with construction trade partners and community leaders, also participated.
Giving back to the community has been a core value for Ellerman since he began his real estate career in 1995. In 2018 alone, the Ellerman Team and its clients donated more than $264,000 to a who’s who of leading charities, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Children’s Mercy Hospital, Harvesters, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Kansas City, Drumm Farm Center for Children, Royals Charities, National Cancer Foundation, United Way, Run for Little Hearts, Coldwater Fostering Care, American Lung Association, Special Olympics Missouri, Lee’s Summit Cares, the Ellerman Team scholarship fund and local schools.
Ellerman’s passion to give back and his commitment to his clients has fueled his team’s remarkable growth. In just over two decades, the team has grown to more than 70 Realtors, who helped nearly 1,200 families buy or sell homes in 2018. The Ellerman Team consistently ranks near the top of local and regional sales charts and in January opened a new office in Springfield.
“Our goal is to become your complete real estate resource, whether buying, selling or even after the transaction is closed,” Ellerman says. “We have worked to form great partnerships with other vendors, builders, mortgage companies, handymen and so many more, so we can provide a smooth ride. Everything we do reflects our founding ideals–trust, communication and honesty.”
And, of course, generosity. The team already is looking forward to the 2020 golf tournament, which again will be played at Drumm Farm in May. Meanwhile, it is committed to helping as many clients and charitable organizations as it can. Buyers and sellers know that when they work with the Ellerman Team, they ultimately are helping make the community a better place to live.
“We’re proud to support Hope Haven as they care for victims of domestic violence in Kansas City,” he says. “This is just one more way to raise awareness and get the community involved.”
