For 28 years, the Johns Creek Arts Center (JCAC), a 501(c)(3) non-profit, has provided arts enrichment to the community reaching over 12,000 participants in 2023. The center’s outreach program serves other non-profit organizations with free art instruction and supplies, an active senior program at Newtown Park and free youth and adult workshops at Ocee Library.
JCAC hosts six exhibitions each year at its home location with artwork also on display at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, Johns Creek City Hall, Ocee Library and Newtown Park.
JCAC has received recognition from the GA Senate, House of Representatives, FC Commissioners and the City of Johns Creek for their commitment to the community.
Catalina Gomez-Beuth first signed up for art classes with Leslie Murphey in 2010 at the arts center. Later, she exhibited her work there and received a very positive reception, appreciation, and soon, awards. "This was my first step into what today has become my life as a professional artist, which I have been living and developing these last 10 years," says the Johns Creek resident. "Currently, I dedicate myself to fine art and I exhibit in galleries, museums, and art centers in and out of the country. I have now come full circle and can teach at the Arts Center. This is very meaningful to me as I can give back to the first place that allowed me to express my artistic desires."
Catalina lives in Johns Creek with her husband who is from Argentina and two children Camila, 17 and Matias, 12 both born in Georgia. "We were searching for a home that had good schools and the opportunity to visit Johns Creek. We immediately fell in love with the tranquility, diversity, and family atmosphere of the city and decided to build a life here," says Catalina.
