Dr. Sandra L. Vargas believes in communication, compassion and yes, technology. “As the owner of North Atlanta Family Dentistry, my philosophy is to provide the highest quality dental health care for our patients in a professional, compassionate, and comfortable environment," she says. "All of the associate dentists and hygienists in my practice are well-trained, have gentle hands, and practice with the patient’s needs and concerns in mind. I hope to alleviate any anxieties you may have about dentistry, and to provide you with a positive, compassionate and exceptional dental experience.”
Dr. Vargas received her D.M.D. from the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine Advanced Standing Program, Boston, Massachusetts and her D.D.S. from the prestigious Javeriana University, Bogota, Colombia. Now, she has an established practice with offices in Johns Creek and Cumming.
She has made philanthropy a priority in her career. Dr. Vargas is a board member of Portal de Salud and a founding member of Together We Smile LLC. Portal de Salud is a local charity that provides a path to healthcare for the part of our local population that doesn’t have the language skills or the education needed to find healthcare. Together We Smile was founded by Dr. Vargas and John Jennings to address the desperate need for basic healthcare for populations in Colombia and other Central and South American countries. While her dedication to giving is a priority, her foundation is her dental practice.

We recently started using Pearl-AI (artificial intelligence) in both of our locations. AI is able to diagnose our X-rays in a way that cannot be done by the eye or other technologies available. With AI we are getting an immediate second opinion

The software is smart and very powerful, but it is not meant to replace the dentist. It simply serves as an always-on assistant, strengthening our practice’s diagnostic performance and making it easier for you to understand what’s going on in your X-rays.
